Walk4Friendship Raises $115,000 for Friendship House of Boca Raton
We were proud to sponsor the Walk4Friendship, where more than 900 people recently came together to support Boca Raton’s Friendship House, raising an incredible $115,000 to benefit individuals with special needs in our community. The event was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community unites with purpose.
Since its founding in 2020, Friendship House of Boca Raton, Florida has become a place of connection and inclusion for more than 80 families raising children with special needs. Through the dedicated efforts of local high school students and community volunteers, the organization has fostered a welcoming environment where friendship thrives and every individual is celebrated.
“We are incredibly grateful for Florida Crystals’ support in helping Friendship House provide friendship, inclusion and meaningful opportunities for individuals with special needs,” said Rabbi Sholom Kessler, Executive Director of Friendship House. “Their generosity is making a direct impact on families in our community, and we are proud to partner together in this mission. Through their sponsorship of Walk4Friendship and generous contributions. Florida Crystals is helping ensure that individuals with special needs feel valued and included in our community.”
The theme of “Brighter Together” came to life as families walked side by side and volunteers cheered. Mayor Scott Singer joined in the celebration, sharing words of support and underscoring the importance of inclusive spaces like Friendship House for children and individuals with disabilities.
Itta Kessler, Director and Co-Founder, inspired the crowd with a message on the ripple effect of kindness, reminding attendees that even small actions can create an immeasurable impact across our community and beyond.
Among those who shared their story was Gilla Weiss, who spoke about the transformation she has seen in her son, Jojo.
“Friendship House has become a place where Jojo truly belongs and feels connected,” Gilla said. “He looks forward to every gathering and marks the dates on his calendar. It’s more than a program. It’s a place he calls his own.”
Every dollar raised through Walk4Friendship goes directly toward programming that fosters belonging, connection and growth for individuals with special needs in Boca Raton.
