Florida Crystals’ Employees Team Up to Raise Funds for Scholarships and Mentoring

We were thrilled to field a large team of employees to take part in the 4th annual Bridge the Gap 5K hosted by and benefitting Take Stock in Children Palm Beach County. Florida Crystals continued our nearly 20-year partnership with Take Stock, serving as presenting sponsor of the event.

Our team members enjoyed a morning of fun and sunshine as they participated in the unique fundraiser, which began on Singer Island and continued across the 65-foot high Blue Heron Bridge.

“Our 4th annual Bridge the Gap race was a successful event and that would not have happened without the help of our generous sponsors, donors and volunteers,” said Shiva L Ahrens, Florida Crystals’ Principal Research Scientist and Take Stock in Children board member. “I am proud of being a part of Florida Crystals and this amazing community.”

Runners crossed the finish line and celebrated with vendors, a DJ dance party, refreshments, free craft beer courtesy of Mulligan’s and cash prizes for race winners.

All proceeds from the event go toward purchasing Florida Prepaid college scholarships for low-income and at-risk youth in the Take Stock in Children Palm Beach County program.
